Carefoot, when you say "accidentally left a freestyle on soundcloud" do you really mean "posted it on soundcloud, then shared it on facebook?" I heard a version you had posted and shared that only had Mao's first verse on it... I wouldn't post or release any type of Battles incomplete, especially different versions, then start promoting them, then accuse the other MC of editing verses. I mean, why not just keep the battle to yourself, recording your first 16, sending it, recording another 16, sending it, then waiting for it to be posted? I don't understand why you'd post incomplete versions publicly, then record a freestyle as well? Either you was trying to create confusion or... actually I don't even know why that would be done. Now, onto the battle itself..
verse 1 - excellent intro. beautifully executed. was disappointed at the quality transition because I thought it was about to be epic, but then you came with a slow flow, which usually works if the punches/lines are funny & hit hard enough. What was the relevance of the 28 grams = ounce line? Verse seemed like a whole lot of filler, with the only way being able to tell that this is a battle are the jokes off of his name itself.
verse 2 - I'm not sure if I like the slow flow. Mao usually comes with a flow that I think is so unique, almost trademarked sound, and I guess not hearing that this verse left me disappointed. I did laugh at verbal diarrhea, and the comedian with no jokes
verse 3 - liked the sound effects, not sure if part of the beat or you added in, but a nice touch. the verse seemed read, and not fluent. I laughed at "if we closed the open mic" line. not understanding why you said "your name is marshall mathers initials."
verse 4 - there is that flow I know & love. A few personals, but seemed like mostly filler. I see the 6 dicks line flip, and it's funny with or without the original line. I laughed at the cerebro diss. My question of whether the gun bars was the beat or carefoot was answered lol.
After re-reading everything I just wrote, I realize I sound like a mega-hater. I actually like both you dudes, but I'm gonna have to disagree with SJD. I don't honestly think this was a good battle. It was A LOT of filler, and neither one came with emotion that would make me believe that either one of you cared too much to win.
I'm only disappointed, because I know both of you are great emcee's, and I know both of you could have came harder, angrier and more personal (especially since you guys kind of know each other)
I'm going to drop this vote for Mickey Mao,
but whoever advances needs to step it up!
don't be mad at me, ily both
